Melissa & Corey

“We met on Halloween of 2014 at a Halloween party hosted by mutual friends. Melissa was dressed as a minion from the Despicable Me and minions movies and Corey was dressed as an 80’s rocker wearing spandex and a wig. We definitely hit it off right away in our conversation and bonded over the fact that we both went to San Diego State University for college at the same time and didn’t know each other. We also talked about mutual friends/acquaintances we had in common.” – Melissa & Corey
This fun loving and witty couple carried on their relationship personality to their wedding day! Toasts & Bells was able to document all of the fun memories and laughter of Melissa & Corey’s special day!
Melissa & Corey’s Friday October wedding was truly inspired by the fall season! It featured a warm neutral color scheme and autumn textures were mixed into their table settings and decor. With the design help of their coordinator, Katie from Ribbon & Leaf Events their wedding day was executed flawlessly!
Melissa and her bridesmaids spent the morning getting pampered in the Bridal Suite. How sweet are their bright floral robes that the girls lounged in while they got ready?!
Here we start to see their amazing neutral fall color scheme with the Bridesmaids Show Me Your Mumu dresses in Dune Chiffon. Melissa’s bouquet from Rustic Roots Floral Design had all of the fall texture and the mustard colored ribbon was the perfect color accent.
Corey and his groomsmen arrived in the afternoon, and helped Corey finish getting ready before his first look with his bride! The couple opted for a first look before the wedding ceremony. Amber decided The Glass Barn would make for the perfect backdrop this special moment of their wedding day.
Amber of Simply Smith Photography has such an amazing and the experience to know the exact moments, details and memories to be captured on a wedding day. She is one of the few photographers we know that always include candids of the couples loved ones and wedding guests. We love how thoughtful these photos can be!!
Following their ceremony in The Garden barn, Simply Smith Photography stole the couple for sunset photos. We love when couples and their coordinators schedule this into their timeline to get all the glowy “golden hour” portraits!
Guests were seated at our round reception tables under the glowing string lights across the lawn of The Garden. Melissa and Katie chose soft neutrals like the champagne colored taper candles, a blush napkin and table runner. They chose simple dinnerware and, gold flatware and chargers. Katie visited the venue the week of their wedding to gather some of the fallen sycamore leaves to be transformed into unique and meaningful escort cards! We LOVED this detailed touch!
Their sweetheart table complimented the elements of their guests and featured a cream runner and two tuffed accent chairs. The rustic farm-style table and their chairs were rentals from Charming Treasures.
Melissa & Corey placed their wedding cake under our Garden gazebo and it looked AMAZING!! Again, with the soft neutral color palette, their cake from Goodies Cookies was a sweet addition to their wedding design.
Elaine of Tres Bien Tailored Cuisine prepared her famous burger bar for the dinner meal.
Melissa & Corey, what an honor it was to host your wedding day! We had so much fun getting to know your love story throughout the planning process, and are so happy that you chose to share your wedding day with us! Wishing you many years of love and laughter!!
