The Basics & Where to Start

Take a moment to envision yourself on your wedding day. Is your hair down? Is it up? Maybe pulled over to one side? How about your makeup. Are you wearing bold lashes or something a little bit softer and fresh? Do your lips pop or are they more subtle? It is important for you to understand how you want to look on your wedding day so you can share your vision with your stylist.
When coming up with your perfect look, consider styles and colors that are timeless. Although a red lip is often gorgeous, it really is not realistic for a wedding day. With all the kissing, eating & drinking it easily smears and can become a hot mess all over your face, or even worse, on your groom’s face.
Think through the details. If you know your eyes always water and get irritated with false lashes, consider getting the lash extensions for your wedding. Think about yourself and what makes you feel most beautiful and confident. If you hate your ears, don’t go with a hairstyle that shows off your ears. Discuss your insecurities and those little things about yourself you rather not accentuate with your stylist.
Be careful not to get trapped in the trendy styles of the times. You don’t want to look back at your photos in 5 years and say, remember when doing a braid across your forehead was really popular for weddings? If you truly love braids, maybe opt for something a little more subtle and incorporate it where appropriate.
